What are P00LS Rewards and how do they work?

We’re proud (and shameless!) to say that P00LS stands out as a protocol that offers a practical approach to rewarding audience engagement. And because we’re proud of this statement, we want to take a bit of time to dive into the “how it works” of P00LS rewards a.k.a the identification of engagements, setting standard reward sizes, and how our formula helps creators intuitively recognize loyalty!

What are P00LS Rewards?

P00LS rewards come in the form of a creator token that is airdropped every week directly to a fans wallet. The concept is straightforward: engage with a creator's content or community, and earn tokens as a form of loyalty points. These tokens are non-transferable and focus on rewarding community members for their genuine engagement, rather than encouraging speculative behavior. You’ve probably heard us say “money is not the only currency”, and we mean it! For us, the power of creator’s operating in web3 is that they can reward the loyalty of those who invest in them - not just in dollars spent, but in time and attention dedicated!

Identifying Engagements:

Eligible engagements are identified as on-chain actions items carried out by fans, which support a creator’s art form and community.

Below is a list of engagements currently rewarded automatically by our Protocol - keep your eyes peeled, the list keeps on growing!

Of course, there are other forms of engagement, such as posts about a creator’s work, collaborating with a creator, participating in an event - all of these actions can be rewarded as well through airdrops requested by a creator or through the use of Token Codes. We’re working to make as many rewards automated as possible - and distributing Token Codes (across socials, etc) is also a great way of inviting web2 fans into a creator’s web3 ecosystem.

And on that note - “what about web2 engagements?” you ask? Don’t worry, we’re adding new rewards to our system all the time, and rewarding engagements on Spotify, X and Instagram are all 2024 goals. For now, creators can use Token Codes to reward their fans in web2.

Standard Reward Sizes:

P00LS has a team of experts who have helped develop our simplified system to determine how many tokens should be rewarded per engagement. This method to our madness was months in the making and informed by thousands of conversations with creators about what mattered most to them. We wanted to build a system creators could edit, sure, but also that they could trust right off the bat! We created our own version of a T-Shirt Size system, and you can see how that is broken down below:

When you join P00LS, we will add a reward size for all of your engagements based on our Standard Settings. As mentioned, and to make sure rewards feel right, our team spends time evaluating the different types of engagement currently offered by all the creators that join P00Ls, to tailor presets for each engagement. That being said, creators will always have the ability to make changes to their rewards and the P00LS team is always available to help advise for special circumstances.

Reward Frequency:

The P00LS protocol is designed to automatically and consistently distribute rewards to community members. This automated process occurs on a weekly basis, ensuring that active and engaged members are recognized and rewarded regularly. The consistency is crucial for maintaining community engagement and interest by rewarding everyone who continues to engage. But of course, if you’re a creator who wants to mint your token, but doesn’t feel quite ready to commit to weekly rewards for your community, that’s okay too!

Creators also have the option to order one time airdrops for specific engagements that cannot or should not be rewarded regularly. The frequency of your rewards can be adjusted directly through the Creator Portal at any time.
